The Bluetti Apex 300 is a home-backup-class power station with 2,764.8Wh, 3,840W of output and a modular expansion system. It is about 84 lb. PCMag called it one of the most capable portable power platforms currently available, Popular Mechanics called its app near-perfect, and Trusted Reviews called its upgradeability ridiculous. PCMag lists a $1,699 MSRP. Check today’s price.

## Who the Apex 300 is for (and who should skip it)

Popular Mechanics said it sits between a portable station and a dedicated home backup system. PCMag stressed the 120V/240V capability and whole-home backup expansion. Trusted Reviews said it is suited to a home or camper van, but “portable” is doing heavy lifting.

Skip it if:

- **You want something to carry.** It weighs about 84 lb (PCMag, Popular Mechanics).

- **You want USB ports out of the box.** The DC hub is an optional extra. See the [Elite 300](https://batterygeneratorguide.com/power-stations/bluetti-elite-300/) for a unit with USB ports built in.

- **You only need 1 to 2 kWh.** See [Anker SOLIX C1000](https://batterygeneratorguide.com/power-stations/anker-solix-c1000/).

## Output, capacity and efficiency

PCMag sustained outputs above 3,800W for extended periods across load tests, with brief surges above 4,000W before it shut down safely, and measured about 87 to 89% usable capacity in AC tests. PCMag also lists 5,528Wh tested capacity with expansion. Popular Mechanics tested computer gear, small appliances and a space heater.

## Expansion

Popular Mechanics lists up to six additional batteries for 19,353.6Wh, and linking up to three units. Trusted Reviews says three Apex 300 units with a Hub A1 could provide up to 11.5kW, and with six batteries each store 58kWh. See our [DELTA Pro 3](https://batterygeneratorguide.com/power-stations/ecoflow-delta-pro-3/) and [Anker SOLIX F3800](https://batterygeneratorguide.com/power-stations/anker-solix-f3800/) for rival expandable systems.

## Charging and solar

Trusted Reviews: Turbo mode up to 2,300W from the mains, full in about 90 minutes; Standard about 1.4kW, about two hours; Silent starts at 500W and slows further. Popular Mechanics notes two solar ports of up to 1,200W each, and a 3,600W path through a 30A connection. PCMag’s con: built-in solar inputs are limited to a 60V MPPT range.

## UPS, app and ports

Popular Mechanics set it up as a UPS and tested a blackout with a monitor and computer. UPS switchover is reported at 20 ms (Popular Mechanics) and 10 ms (PCMag). Four 120V outlets, a 30A outlet and a 120/240V 50A outlet (Popular Mechanics). Popular Mechanics called the app near-perfect.

## Ownership notes

- **Noise.** PCMag found fan noise controlled under heavy load, while Trusted Reviews listed “not particularly quiet” as a con.

- **Price.** Bluetti’s US page listed $1,699 on 2026-10-12. PCMag: $1,699 MSRP versus a $1,999.99 list. Trusted Reviews: £1,649.

- **Battery.** Trusted Reviews says Bluetti’s LiFePO4 cells are rated for 80% capacity after long cycle life, and calls the durability and warranty superb.
